L+M was excited to continue to support City Parks Foundation and help bring golf and soccer programming to Beach 30th Street Playground this year, expanding access to free youth sports programs in the Far Rockaway, Queens community.
This year, over 65 kids between ages six and 17 received free instruction twice a week for seven weeks from July to August. They learned the basics of putting, chipping, and doing a full swing in golf, as well as dribbling, passing and kicking in soccer. The final golf lesson was held in Riis Park Golf Course, where students were able to test their skills on a real fairway. City Parks Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to invigorating and transforming parks into dynamic, vibrant centers of urban life. City Parks hosts a variety of sports – tennis, soccer, golf, and track and field for children across the city.
L+M has supported the organization since 2021 when City Parks launched the golf program at the Beach 30th Street Playground. The scope of programming was expanded to include soccer in 2022. We hope all kids in the program had a ball this season!
