Hourly Rate: $27/hour

What You’ll Do

As the National Preservation Intern as part of the NY Affordable team, you will work on national preservation projects, outside the NYC area. Our team works to preserve existing affordable housing by acquiring and rehabilitating affordable housing properties. Our summer intern is expected to work independently and collectively, as part of a team. An understanding of real estate finance is required (and successful applicants may be asked to demonstrate this through a brief exercise). Specific duties will vary depending on the team, but include tasks similar to these:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support acquisitions efforts, which may include evaluating offering memorandums, responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs), preparing investment analyses/memos, and providing investment recommendations.
  • Assisting with finance closings, including addressing lender and investor document checklists
  • Collecting due diligence materials
  • Financial modeling and analysis to evaluate and structure potential transactions
  • Coordination of meetings of project teams
  • Assisting with consultant agreements
  • Site visits and market analysis

Who We Want

  • Must be 18 years of age or older college student.
  • Pursuing graduate college degree.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Real Estate Finance and Investments majors a plus.
