MEP Project Manager

L+M Builders Group, an established residential developer/builder, has an excellent opportunity for an MEP Project Manager to support Senior Management during Precon, Construction and Asset Management. This support is related to MEP focused initiatives in new building construction, preservation, and building operations.

Areas of Responsibility & Job Requirements:

Preconstruction:

  • Sit in on relevant design meetings and provide MEP direction from Sr. management to the consultants, as needed.
  • Manage the drawing reviews of all MEP related design and coordinate constructability reviews with the consultants.
  • Confirm compliance with L+M Standard Design.
  • Level MEP consultant and contractor proposals to present to Precon and construction Sr Management.
  • Assist with subcontractor interactions during the design phase to get feedback on pricing to reconcile internal estimates.
  • Lead effort amongst Precon CAPM Group in receiving project updates to inform the Sr. Management on status of all MEP related items in design.
  • Assist, as needed, in providing input on potential new development opportunities.
  • Assist with determining project needs for building management systems. Price out options, as needed.
  • Perform Take-off’s and pricing exercises, as needed to assist in making budget and design decisions.
  • Assist with organizing and present Lunch and Learns with new technologies and equipment to help with future designs focused on sustainability and making L+M ahead of the curve.
  • Assist with maintaining the company-wide sustainability initiative.
  • Organize and gather historical bids for trends and future MEP bids.
  • Assist scope reviews with the Purchasing Department.
  • Manage all city/state agency MEP submissions through approval necessary to achieve New Building Permits and start construction.
  • Assist with Utility Company collaboration.

Construction:

  • Travel to sites and work with construction staff during coordination, commissioning, and sign offs.
    • Provide feedback to Sr. Managers and troubleshooting issues.
    • Perform research to correct building issues in construction and operations.
  • Company-wide management of boiler room Matterport data.
  • Assist with Utility Company collaboration.

Building Operations:

  • Support building operations in troubleshooting issues with the currently operating MEP systems.
  • Work with Asset Management and Sr. Managers to reconcile operational data of existing buildings to make decision on energy usage and building designs in Precon.
  • Assist with determining project needs for building management systems. Price out options, as needed.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree is required. Degree in engineering is preferred.

Years of Industry Experience Required:

  • 5 – 10 years in Construction or Engineering focused on MEP
