Unforgettable Moments and Experiences from the 2024 Summer Interns

– Bella Guerra, Summer 2024 Communications + Marketing Intern

The 2024 Intern Cohort has completed L+M’s 10-week internship program and spent the summer collaborating with teams across the company, gaining insight into the affordable housing industry and contributing to their professional and personal development.

The interns visited Arverne East, Beach Green Dunes III, Bronx Point, Essex Crossing, and the National Black Theatre during the program, and broadened their understanding of the project lifecycle, the importance of collaboration, and how L+M delivers on its mission to build stronger communities.

During the program, the worked within their chosen departments, volunteered at The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) urban farm, and connected with colleagues to learn about how projects can be successful and impactful.

As the interns sign off for the summer, we leave as young professionals equipped with new skills and the ability to recognize our strengths and leverage them for future success.

From my perspective, every moment in this internship was special, but what I’ll remember most is the laughter, successes, and educational moments shared with my team and my fellow interns. These moments were integral in teaching professional and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in the workplace and beyond, as well as instilling confidence as I continue my career path.

For that, I am eternally grateful. Thank you to L+M, my team, and my fellow interns for teaching me more about myself than I could have ever learned in a lecture hall!
