The Winston marks a major milestone in the long-term revitalization of the former Winchester Repeating Arms Company factory complex, transforming a previously underutilized surface parking lot into a vibrant five-story building that activates the site and delivers much needed housing and neighborhood-serving uses.
The team broke ground on Phase 1, which will include 327 new homes to be developed across three buildings and significant infrastructure development to reintegrate the site back into the city’s street grid. The redevelopment will revitalize the entire 12-acre West Philadelphia campus.
The milestone reflects deep collaboration with residents, NYCHA, and our project partners, as well as our shared commitment to strengthening this vibrant East Village community. With comprehensive apartment renovations, major building upgrades, reimagined outdoor spaces, and expanded resident services, this work will have a meaningful impact on 450 residents while preserving long‑term affordability.
