Our team recently lent a helping hand to the Mott Haven Fridge, a L+M 2022 grantee that supports underserved communities throughout upper Manhattan and the Bronx, by bringing fresh produce and food essentials to communities in need.

The L+M volunteer team, including staff and their family and friends, worked together to unload, sort, and package about 6,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables. Then they loaded delivery drivers’ cars in preparation for more than 20 deliveries all over the Bronx as well as to community organizers, who distributed the produce to neighbors in need.

These fridges and pantries have served as a lifeline for community members during the pandemic and continue to aid individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in underserved communities. L+M is proud to support the Mott Haven Fridge to deliver on their mission to bring fresh produce to the heart of underserved communities.
