Women of L+M

We want to take the opportunity to celebrate the women of L+M and C+C who bring their skill and expertise to our projects. In fact, some of our amazing women were acknowledged by the Women’s Builders Council and the Council of Urban Real Estate for their outstanding work.

We believe that socially responsible, community-based development extends beyond housing. L+M supports minority and women-owned business enterprises (M/WBEs) across all lines of our business including Development, Construction and Property Management. In 2018, we awarded 89 contracts to Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) certified businesses, totaling more than $32 million. We also actively seek out opportunities to work with WBEs through outreach initiatives and capacity building. Many of C+C’s most frequently used vendors (specializing in appliance repairs, janitorial supplies and pest control) are women-owned businesses.

Additionally, we support a number of organizations through our grants program which drive meaningful change in their communities. One of our 2019 Grantees, Hot Bread Kitchen, empowers women through its intensive training program where participants learn foundational culinary skills and professional skills. Hot Bread Kitchen has placed 100% of their graduates who seek employment in fair wage positions with access to benefits and opportunities for advancement.

We are committed to investing in our team, women-owned businesses and in our communities. Through these investments, L+M aims to support women working across all sectors of real estate, as well as women working to improve their communities.
