Our team joined together for a day of service in support of the WANA Community Resource Center shelter in Harlem this week in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy. WANA (We Are Not Afraid) is a Harlem-based non-profit organization led by women of color and serves people in need through its shelter and food programs.

L+M volunteers at our Manhattan and Larchmont offices created nearly 200 wellness packages for the WANA community members. Packages included socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products. Our volunteers also handwrote positive notes of positivity and added one to each wellness package.

WANA advocates for and provides resources to women, immigrants, the elderly, children, and those managing issues related to addiction, as well as previously justice-involved adults. The WANA shelter serves clients from over 40 countries.
