The interns are in awe at the National Urban League and National Black Theatre developments

L+M’s 2023 summer interns have officially completed their program.

Over the course of 10 weeks, the cohort of 27 interns gained incredible experience in the office and on the field, exploring various career paths in Development, Construction, and Property Management, as well as other departments. While working hands-on across the business, the interns also learned how all employees contribute to L+M’s mission to work together to build stronger communities.

The interns were given a first-hand look at L+M’s work through tours of completed properties and projects under construction, including Bronx Point, Essex Crossing, National Urban League, National Black Theatre, and Roosevelt Landings. Through the site visits, the interns saw the project lifecycle in action from development, construction, and property management.

The internship experience also provided a host of networking opportunities where the cohort connected with fellow interns and professionals, allowing them to learn from others, receive advice on their career paths, and build long-lasting connections.

Mentors and interns at the Intern Networking Lunch

One such opportunity was the Intern Networking Lunch, where the cohort mingled with L+M managers and mentors and received insight into their career trajectories. The interns also participated in the Maximize Your Potential Seminar, which connected them with Freddie Mac interns and seasoned real estate professionals. To cap the program, the interns and their designated mentors attended a Yankees game together, deepening their relationships and partaking in a classic New York City experience.
